My Experience

I have been involved in the design and construction supervision of various civil engineering works, serving as both Client Representative and Project Manager on major projects. I led the development and implementation of ISO systems for quality, environment, and safety, resulting in the certification of two beverage bottling plants in Ghana.

2019 - 2020 Tullow Ghana Limited

Area Manager, Takoradi

This role involved the management of the operations of the company in Takoradi including dealing with governmental agencies and all other external parties in Takoradi.

2015 - 2019Tullow Ghana Limited

Infrastructure Project Manager

This involved project management of all the company’s infrastructure projects in all locations in Ghana including Social Performance projects. During the period some of the projects undertaken include: the rehabilitation of approximately 22,000 m2 of airport apron at the Airforce Station Takoradi. It also included the rehabilitation of some roads and the construction of an office block for Tullow Ghana Ltd to house 58 staff at the Airforce Station in Takoradi. The Social Performance Projects included the rehabilitation of a number of old science laboratories and construction of new science laboratories for some Senior High Schools in the country. It also included the construction of a maternity block for Essikado Hospital, dormitories and assembly halls for some Senior High Schools. There was also the provision of clean water systems for 33 communities in the Western Region.

2009 - 2015Tullow Ghana Limited

Facilities and Administration Manager

This involves leading teams in two (2) separate locations to deliver Facilities and Administration services. The services include Office Management and Services, Facilities Management of “staff houses” and staff residences, Land Transport Administration and Management, and Staff Travel Management. This involves the management of third-party Contractors who provide some of the services. Also, during the period I project managed the fit-out of two class A offices. The first housed 220 staff and the second housed 350 staff, together with all other facilities such as tele-presence, video conference facilities, IT server room, and canteen. The role has about 7 direct reports with about 50 staff and 5 third party contractors.

2008 - 2009Barclays Bank

Project Manager/ Head of Change

This involved managing a project management office for the bank. The office carried out all change initiatives of the bank including rolling out of new products and new branches. This role supervised Project Managers delivering different projects within the bank, thus managing the bank’s portfolio and programmes.

2005 - 2007The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited

The Coca-Cola Quality System & Regulatory Affairs Manager

The role required the creation and maintaining of alliances and partnership with industry regulators and other allied organisations. I championed the development and implementation of the Coca-Cola E3 System and ISO (Quality Environment and Safety) System leading to certification of both systems for two bottling plants in Ghana. Thereafter maintain a continuously improving system for the company. This role required working with all functions in the company.

2003 - 2005The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited

Project Manager

This assignment was to put in place a fully automated 48,000bph bottling line together with all utilities as an extension to a factory already with two (2) bottling lines (24,000bph and 12,000bph). The strategy was managing contracting over eighteen (18) months and estimated at US$11m. Various contracts managed include supply and installation of a Co2 plant, steam boiler, 48,000bph bottling line, water treatment plant and storage, procurement of building, civil and electrical works. During this period, other projects managed include a Waste Water Treatment Plant among others. Other responsibilities included facilities management for the two (2) plants/ facilities in Accra and Kumasi. The strategy employed an in-house maintenance team.

1994 - 2003ABP Consult Limited

Principal Engineer

Leading a team of Civil/ Structural Engineers to put together tender documents for the installation of a new bottling line for Guinness Ghana Limited together with other associated works. The contractors’ tenders were also adjudicated on. Resident Engineer for dredging the Inchaban Reservoir as part of the Sekondi-Takoradi Water Supply Rehabilitation Project.

1993Volta River Authority

Assistant Design Engineer

Preliminary design of infrastructural facilities for Akwatia, near Akosombo. The area was zoned for industries. Facilities include road network, drainage system and water supply system. Design of civil and minor structural works for the expansion of the VRA substation and control room at Obuasi. Assisted in the preparation of tender document for topographic survey required for Lower Volta Rehabilitation Project. Project involved bathymetric surveys and subsequent dredging of the outlet of the Volta River to the sea.
